This piece bridges girlhood into young adulthood. I grew up in suburban Central Florida, took in the patterns I noticed, saw what was on offer, and ran through the grass of life as far away as I could get. There’s a joke-threat that goes, “Your ass is grass and I’m the lawnmower.”
